The “Powder Variations” series is an ongoing study in which Carl Emil Jacobsen transforms natural, massive stones from the Jutland heath, as well as chalk and brick from demolished buildings, into light, thin, and beautifully colored shells, using the dust of these crushed minerals as the surface of his abstract objects.
