The “Equals” easy chair is a sitting object made out of two elements: a cast resin base which provides the necessary weight and a cantilevered thin metal sheet which provides a surface for sitting. The two are equally functional yet the two contrasting materials exaggerate their juxtaposition and visual unbalance. A similar logic is applied to the “Equals” standing light.
