Neil Denari’s early pre-digital architectural drawings are characterized by painstaking precision. Denari has said that his love for drawing is rather an interest in the amount of information a precise drawing provides. In this diagram materialized in neon, clarity is represented as a synthesis of different thoughts. Here, multiple ideas coexist. They have their own logic or illogic, but they have a path. They move forward. They loop. They stall in cusps. They might reverse direction or overlap one another, gaining proximity. Connections are made despite distance, difference, or dimension. Ideas, once vague, become clear, even if the image of them is not. The mental image is given precedence over its representation.
