Like many of Dirk Vander Kooij’s works, this chair is created with a process somewhat similar to 3D printing. An in-house-developed robot melts plastic in the shape of a pipe, then carefully writes out the shape of this chair. The object’s appearance—its simple shape and low resolution—closely relates to how it is made. The hollow piece is sourced from 100% recycled synthetics.
